There is no per-day cannabis purchase limit in New Jersey for adult-use consumers. However, per transaction, you can purchase up to 1 ounce of usable cannabis (flower) or its equivalent in other forms: 5 grams of concentrates (which equals approximately 1 ounce of flower) or 1,000 milligrams of edibles.
Medical patients (or caregivers) can purchase up to 3 ounces (84 grams) of medicine in a 30-day period. Terminally ill patients have no purchase limit. These limits only apply to medical cardholders or caregivers shopping at medical cannabis dispensaries.
Adult-use marijuana transactions are subject to New Jersey’s state sales tax of 6.625%. There is no additional state-level retail excise tax, and Evesham does not impose a local excise tax. However, municipalities in New Jersey have the right to impose their own excise tax if they choose.
Medical cardholders are exempt from sales tax on cannabis purchases.

This means you can use cannabis at your own home or a friend’s place, provided it doesn’t breach your lease or HOA regulations. Renters, take note: landlords have the authority to prohibit or restrict smoking.
